This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop and use emotional intelligence to increase self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management in the workplace.
The unit applies to individuals who are required to identify, analyse, synthesise and act on information from a range of sources and who deal with unpredictable problems as part of their job role. These individuals may be responsible for leading a team or work area.
This unit is an excellent CPE activity for BAS and tax practitioners registered with the Tax Practitioner Board (TPB), as it is a deviation from number crunching but still quality CPE.
On successful completion of this unit, you will gain a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and 8 CPE hours.

Learn how to manage and support the emotional intelligence and self-awareness of one’s own self and others whilst also enhancing your own professional relationships.
To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, you must:
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence in relation to at least two different work tasks
- Promote the development of emotional intelligence in others on at least one occasion.
In the course of the above, the candidate must:
- Develop assessment criteria to assess personal emotional strengths and weaknesses
- Conduct an analysis to identify personal emotional triggers, incorporating feedback from others
- Analyse and document interactions with co-workers
- Develop and implement plans for responding to emotional expressions
- Apply techniques that promote flexibility in interactions with others and show consideration for the emotions of others.

The Diploma qualifies individuals who apply integrated technical and theoretical concepts in a broad range of contexts to undertake advanced skilled or paraprofessional work and as a pathway for further learning. Graduates at this level will have specialised knowledge and skills for skilled/paraprofessional work and/or further learning and have technical and theoretical knowledge in a specific area or a broad field of work and learning.
Graduates at this level will have a broad range of cognitive, technical and communication skills to select and apply methods and technologies to:

There are no formal requirements applicable to enrolling in the course. Applicants must; however, demonstrate they meet the requirements listed below:
- At least 18 years of age at the time of enrolment
