Qualifications for BAS Agents
Many functions performed by bookkeepers are deemed BAS services. This includes determining or advising clients on liabilities, obligations, or entitlements under a BAS provision. Registration is required for those delivering BAS services for a fee or other reward. The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) has also declared additional services that qualify as BAS services under a legislative instrument, expanding beyond traditional BAS provisions.
Our courses cover the foundational and advanced skills needed to operate as a registered BAS agent, including:
- FNS40222 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting: This core qualification, approved by the TPB, provides a deep understanding of practice management, accounting principles, GST, payroll, BAS preparation, and lodgment, all of which are essential for BAS agents to manage client obligations effectively.
- Specialised Units for BAS Provisions: We offer targeted units that focus on critical areas like GST, BAS, payroll, and TASA equipping aspiring agents with the technical skills to handle BAS services with accuracy and confidence.

What Our Students Have to Say
My CPE - Employment Termination Payments was a great course for me to learn an area of payroll that I do not come across often with my clients work.
In a busy world doing a self-paced, online course was ideal. The material was easily accessible, and although ETP’s can be complicated I feel like a gained knowledge and case study experience, building resources and gaining confidence researching legislation and compliance.
Understanding the importance of compliance and accountability has been at the forefront for my learning which is invaluable in a complex and evolving industry. The support and targeted additional training has enabled me to challenge my thought processes and allowed me to adapt my learning style in a nurturing environment, allowing the opportunity to always ask ‘but why?’
From an introductory aspect, the course has been explanatory, thorough and easy to understand. My experience has been very positive, my trainer has been exceptional and I would absolutely recommend My CPE to anyone wanting to join this challenging industry.
Wanting to do some further studies. Looking for supportive and knowledgeable educators. My CPE is what you need. I have completed a Diploma of Accounting, Diploma of Payroll Services and numerous short courses through My CPE and could not fault the level of support and dedication I felt from the staff.
This was particularly evident when I lost my way and my motivation. Sonya and her team helped reignite my motivation and helped me find my way with my studies.
The knowledge and skills gained through My CPE will enable me to take my service offering for clients to the next level. I cannot thank them enough and will definitely doing more study and CPE training with them.
