This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to coordinate an organisation’s remuneration and benefits plans. It incorporates all functions associated with remuneration, including packaging, salary benchmarking, market rate reviews, bonuses and the legislative aspects of remuneration and employee benefits.
The unit applies to individuals who are human resource practitioners responsible for overseeing an organisation’s remuneration process.
This unit is an excellent CPE activity for BAS and tax practitioners who are registered with the Tax Practitioner Board (TPB), as they must maintain their personal competence as part of meeting their ongoing registration obligations.
On successful completion of this unit, you will gain a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment issued by My CPE Pty Ltd, (RTO ID 45717) and 8 CPE hours.

Skills in this unit must be demonstrated in a workplace or simulated environment where the conditions are typical of those in a working environment in this industry:
- Manage remuneration and benefits according to all legislative and ethical requirements and operational policies
- Apply awards and agreements to remuneration processes
- Apply the requirements of the Australian Taxation Office in relation to income tax, superannuation reporting, fringe benefits tax (FBT) and bonus payments.
And demonstrate the ability to:
- Apply remuneration principles or models and approaches
- Apply ethical practices relating to remuneration and benefits strategies
- Know common remuneration or employee benefits and ways to position an organisation to be an ‘employer of choice’
- Understand relevant industrial agreements and organisational policies and procedures affecting remuneration strategies
- Be able to interpret and apply relevant legislation, regulations and standards that may affect remuneration strategies
- Adhere to relevant business ethical requirements.

Graduates of a Diploma will demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills:

There are no formal requirements applicable to enrolling in the course. Applicants must; however, demonstrate they meet the requirements listed below:
- At least 18 years of age at the time of enrolment
- Access to a computer and internet connection
- Good language, literacy, and numeracy skills are essential
- Have access to a workplace or simulated environment that provides for communication and interaction with your colleagues
- Access to a range of business technology, office equipment, internet and an audio/video recording device.
