The Skill Set is designed to impart a sound understanding of fundamental accounting principles, modern techniques useful in the analysis and interpretation of financial information, together with the learning opportunities surrounding general bookkeeping and accounting, activity statements, payroll and more.
A program ideal for those in accounting and bookkeeping roles who use knowledge of accounting principles to perform a range of analytical tasks in a variety of industries, those aiming to study the Diploma of Accounting and those looking for a CPE activity to update existing skills and knowledge.
The units of competency in this skill set provide credits towards the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping. Completion of this Skill Set is one of several options to meet the entry requirement of FNS50217 Diploma of Accounting; and a partial entry requirement for FNS60217 Advanced Diploma of Accounting.

Individuals in these roles apply solutions to a range of often complex problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources, including relevant legislation and taxation systems. They apply initiative to plan, coordinate and evaluate their own work and provide guidance to others within defined guidelines.

• At least 18 years of age at the time of enrolment
• Access to a computer and internet connection
• Good language, literacy & numeracy skills.

The Skill Set contains Diploma level units which qualifies individuals who apply integrated technical and theoretical concepts in a broad range of contexts to undertake advanced skilled or paraprofessional work and as a pathway for further learning. Graduates at this level will have specialised knowledge and skills for skilled/paraprofessional work and/or further learning and have technical and theoretical knowledge in a specific area or a broad field of work and learning.
Graduates at this level will have a broad range of cognitive, technical and communication skills to select and apply methods and technologies to:
• analyse information to complete a range of activities
• provide and transmit solutions to sometimes complex problems
